The coloration of cotton fabric with natural dye extracted from turmeric powder

نویسندگان

چکیده

The goal of this project is to assess the effect natural dye absorption from turmeric powder on cotton fabrics. At commencement, fabrics are mordanted with two different processes, one synthetic mordanting, and another bio mordanting. Both mordanting processes done at 100°C temperature for 60 minutes then dyed 80°C minutes. Application was made mordants. After completing dyeing process, color fastness wash water, dry wet rubbing tests were evaluated. results show that samples cuso4 have not so good properties. But, in case aloe vera, properties relatively better. CuSO4 washing. vera sample has better wash. both water. conducted maintained ISO standard.

A Comparative Study on Dyeing of Cotton and Silk Fabric Using Madder as a Natural Dye

Madder is considered the queen of the reds which is one of the oldest used natural dyes. In this study, madder was applied to cotton and silk fabrics by using mordants in various ways to investigate the coloring effects. Alum and copper sulphate were used as mordants not only before and after dyeing process but also during the process. The aqueous extract of the dye was applied on the scoured c...

Dyeing of Cotton Fabric with Natural Dyes Improved by Mordants and Plasma Treatment

Nowadays, there is a great tendency for eco-dyeing and finishing of textiles with natural products. several natural dyes have been used for dyeing of protein fibers but a low number have the ability to dye cotton fiber because of low affinity of cellulose to the natural dyes. In this study madder and weld natural colorants were used to dye cotton fabric premordanted with three metallic salt...

Functional Dyeing of Wool with Natural Dye Extracted from Berberis vulgaris Wood and Rumex Hymenosepolus Root as Biomordant

In this study, a functional colorant, Berberine, extracted from Berberis vulgaris wood was applied onto wool fiber using the extract of roots of Rumex Hymenosepolus as biomordant. The effect of treatment variables on the color strength of dyed fibers was examined. The fastness properties of dyed wool against washing, light, dry and wet rubbing were evaluated. Dyed samples were tested for an...

Natural dyes extracted from black carrot and bramble for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Two different natural dyes containing anthocyanin extracted from black carrot and bramble from Iran. Spectrophotometric evaluations of the natural dyes in solution and on a TiO2 substrate were carried out in order to assess changes in the status of the natural dyes. The results show that the natural dyes indicate buthochromic shift on the TiO2 substrates. The chemical adsorption of natural dyes...
